The groundbreaking for a two-tower development in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids is set for next week.
The project at 150 Ottawa Ave. NW, dubbed Warner Building, will officially break ground at 11 a.m. on June 27, with site work underway. A 22-story tower crane will be used during construction.
The most recently disclosed cost of the project is $63.5 million.
The site is currently a 125-space parking lot owned by Mike Ellis.
The new development will include a 15-story office tower, anchored by the law firm Warner Norcross & Judd and Chemical Bank, and a 12-story Hyatt Place hotel and a parking ramp. The project also has retail and restaurant space.
Orion Real Estate Solutions, part of Grand Rapids-based Orion Construction, is the lead developer on the project, with Orion Construction serving as the general contractor.
Other partners in the project include Ellis Parking, SIBSCO, DTN Management and Grand Rapids-based Concept Design.
