GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A multi-million dollar building project is in the works for downtown Grand Rapids.
The Oct. 12 agenda for the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) shows the 15-story building is planned to take over the parking lot at the corner of Ottawa Avenue and Pearl Avenue. The development will be the new home for the law firm Warner Norcross and Judd.
The $63.5 million two-tower structure will have one tower dedicated to 123 apartments – consisting of one and two bedroom styles – and the other tower split between seven floors of parking and seven floors of office space. Both towers will share a common ground level, which will host retail shops.
The project is expected to begin construction next spring and be finished within two years with incentives from the DDA. 150 Ottawa project manager John Wheeler says the project can support up to 200 new jobs.
The DDA is expected to discuss the project during Wednesday’s meeting.
