Project Summary

A brand new, 15-story, 335,000-square foot mixed use building in the heart of Downtown Kalamazoo. The Exchange is located at 151 W. Michigan Ave, the southeast corner of W. Michigan and Rose. The building will offer nearly 60,000 square feet of commercial space, 300 internal parking spots, and 133 luxury apartments.

The project is anchored by Chemical bank in a 2-story, 14,000 SF suite on the corner of Michigan & Rose. The first floor offers 6,507 SF of retail space facing Michigan Avenue and the Radisson Plaza Hotel and Conference Center, plus a 1,055 SF suite facing Rose Street.

The 7th floor offers 25,877 square feet with amazing views looking out over downtown Kalamazoo and up to East Campus. Suites can be demised as small as 1,800 square feet. The 15th floor penthouse will offer multiple rooftop terraces and the most dramatic views available in Southwest Michigan. This space could be home to a restaurant with one of a kind views of the Kalamazoo Skyline.

Orion Construction of Grand Rapids is the construction manager and general contractor for the project. Orion was chosen, Taylor said, because of its experience with about a dozen similar projects over the last few years, and because it was the most cost-competitive.
