News and Recognition
A new Gage provisioning center has taken the place of an abandoned gas station and blighted home on a major corridor in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Following a complete demolition of the two existing buildings and soil remediation of the site, the new 4,000 square foot facility was completed over the course of 4 months and transferred to the owner for two weeks final finishes and equipment.
The exterior began with a large retaining wall on the backside of the building pad, followed by block walls, open web roof trusses, store front windows with a decorative veneer overhang to enclose the structure. Framing, MEP, drywall, paint, plank tile, cabinetry and IT completed the inside. Asphalt, curb and gutter and landscaping rounded out the project.
The finished facility features a spacious lobby and waiting area with floor-to-ceiling storefront windows and entry door, a sales room, vault (walk in safe), delivery room, managers/security office, storage rooms and two ADA restrooms.
“This location in Kalamazoo was left unattended and had become an eyesore on this heavily-traveled thoroughfare in the city,” said Orion Construction President Brad Walsh. “Under Gage’s vision, we transformed a neglected property into a modern, architecturally-crafted facility that will serve new and existing clients within the growing cannabis industry, and also support economic growth in Kalamazoo.”
