Project Summary

Baker College partnered with Orion Construction to build the 23,000 sf, two-story Culinary Institute of Michigan. As part of a larger multi-phase, $27 million dollar, public-private partnership development between Saint Clair County, JB Real Estate Ventures, and Orion Real Estate Solutions, the Culinary Institute features cutting edge resources and comfortable amenitees for culinary arts students.

Orion is currently under construction on Baker College’s next phase with a 12,000 sq. ft., $3.5 million dollar, 48 bed student housing development completed in August.

  • Seven professional, commercial-grade kitchens
  • Multi-purpose room, student lounge, and staff offices
  • 50 seat restaurant for real-world student experience
We couldn’t be more pleased with the progress and coordination has taken place throughout construction of this project. This is precisely what Baker College is about: providing real-world experiences to our students that deliver a huge advantage as they move into the workforce.
