Project Description
The iconic Corner Bar was restored after a fire to better serve customers and the downtown Rockford community.
Originally built in 1873, the two-story brick structure was braced immediately after the fire was contained. Over the course of a few weeks, careful demolition allowed the building’s front façade to remain intact while the rest of the footprint was prepared for a new basement foundation.
The new building was rebuilt with steel and block construction. The work flow between the kitchen and dining room was improved and the interior received a full upgraded. A second-floor event space and outdoor patio was also added.
