Project Description
Project T represents a visionary, high-impact residential development born from a collaborative partnership between Harbor Habitat for Humanity and Whirlpool. Located in Benton Harbor, MI, this master-planned community features 14 residential buildings comprising 28 for-sale duplex units, thoughtfully designed to expand homeownership opportunities and foster long-term neighborhood stability. Orion Construction led the ground-up construction of the multi-structure development, managing site infrastructure, utility distribution, and trade sequencing across the entire parcel.
The development offers two-story homes in both two-bedroom (22 units) and three-bedroom (6 units) configurations, each crafted with high-performance residential finishes. A defining feature of Project T is its forward-thinking sustainability footprint: six units were constructed to DOE “Zero-Energy Ready” standards, incorporating enhanced envelope insulation, high-efficiency mechanical systems, and pre-wiring for future solar panel integration and electric vehicle charging. Beyond the individual homes, Orion executed a centrally located community common area, delivering shared green space that promotes resident interaction and lasting community connection.
