ORION COMPLETES 72-UNIT TOWNHOME COMMUNITY IN ADA-
The Knoll Townhomes of Ada includes a mix of two- and three-bedroom units whose monthly rent ranges from $1,850 to $2,450, said Jason Wheeler, a spokesman for Orion Construction, the Grand Rapids-based firm that served as general contractor on the project.
“We’ve had our sights set on a townhome development in Ada for a while,” said Wheeler, who noted that commercial development in the nearby Village of Ada and a shortage of rental housing in the area made the project a good fit for the area.
The project cost about $15 million, he said.
At this point, 54 of the 72 units are leased, Wheeler said. The remaining units are expected to be filled by mid-summer.
The townhomes, 1040 Spaulding Ave. SE, feature a mix of one- and two-stall garages, as well as two and a half bathrooms and private entrances. They also include stainless steel GE appliances, granite countertops, a washer and dryer, and “shaker style cabinets in kitchens and soft grey cabinets” in the bathrooms.
Orion was to host a ceremonial ribbon cutting for the project Wednesday afternoon.
In addition to Orion, Progressive AE served as the architect, while PURE Real Estate “brokered the transaction” and is serving as the property manager.
Construction on the project started last spring.
