Evolving to the growing needs of their business and its customers, owners of the BP gas station and convenience store on the 28th street corridor in South East Grand Rapids decided that they were ready for a change. In addition to the challenge of a tight jobsite, the owners also needed to remain in operation during the majority of construction.
The first step of their transformation began with the demolition of a dated carwash building. Meanwhile, removing and rerouting utility trenches, working alongside underground tanks and potential hazardous materials with minimal disruption required careful consideration and timing. The final phase required demolishing the existing convenience store only a few feet from the newly constructed 2,000 square foot building.
The newly completed convenience store not only gives the business a more modern look, but is also twice the size of its predecessor with a large retail floor plan, refreshment area, walk-in cooler/freezer, restrooms, cashier area, and back-of-house amenities.
