Project Summary

Established 24 years ago as a 149-key hotel and currently dominating the view from the Blue Water Bridge, the for- mer Thomas Edison Inn underwent a complete interior and exterior renovation and upgrade to become a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.

The hotel remained accessible and available for book- ings throughout the course of construction. This project is part of a multi-phase, $27 million dollar, public-private partnership development between JB Real Estate Ventures, Orion Real Estate Solutions and Saint Clair County.

  • 5,400 sq. ft. ballroom accommodating 600 guests
  • 9,000 sf restaurant and 40,000 sf convention center
The Orion Construction team really made this hotel all new again—preserving the rich and historic 1920’s aesthetics from the previous hotel, while providing new technology and amenities that Hilton hotels is known for across the globe. The effort and resources JB Real Estate Ventures and O.R.E.S. have invested in this community community makes this a truly amazing project.
