A developer is opening a $35 million, 12-story hotel downtown.
The 114,312-square-foot, 160-room Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown opens tomorrow at 140 Ottawa Ave. NW.
John Wheeler, president of Orion Real Estate Solutions, is majority owner, and AHC+Hospitality is the hotel’s management company.
Hotel amenities include gym cardio equipment, an indoor pool, a market, cocktail and Starbucks coffee bar, Wi-Fi, and free public computers with internet access.
Each room includes a 43-inch, flat-screen HDTV, mini-fridge, private workspace and private safe.
The hotel has four meeting areas ranging from 480 square feet to 994 square feet, as well as catering options for meetings.
The hotel project broke ground in June 2017.
Orion Construction was the contractor for the project.
The architect was Grand Rapids-based Ghafari Associates/Concept Design.
The interior designer was Hyatt Place-approved designer Toronto-based Norr Interiors.
Chemical Bank provided financing for the project.
The hotel was built in tandem with the $55 million Warner Building project, which finished in July at 150 Ottawa Ave. NW.
The two towers are connected by a 400-space parking ramp.
