Project Summary
Orion Construction contracted with the State of Michigan Department of Veterans Affairs to complete a renovation of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. The project involved the modification of the main entrance to the facility with the addition of a new exterior vestibule and a steel-framed, canvas-covered canopy. The 7,000 sq. ft. canopy now provides a protected area for visitors and residents. Included was 15,000 sq. ft. of additional sidewalk with built-in “snow-melt” technology and enhanced landscaping.
Orion’s team was able to see that this was more than a construction project- it was a symbol of our recognition and gratitude to the veterans, the employees and donors to the Michigan Home for Veterans. Orion was able to bring our vision forward and took responsibility for ensuring we were satisfied. I would recommend Orion for any job of this nature, where normal operations and residents/occupants’ daily routines can not be affected by construction.
